Local Artist Earns Title Audio Track in International Publication

Kendall Bruns presents “Home sapiens correctus” in second edition of Publikation uden navn

Cincinnati, OH – December 10, 2001 – Kendall Bruns’ audio work, “Homo sapiens correctus,” has been selected as the title audio track to the second edition of Publikation uden navn, an international collection of conceptual art. An opening reception for the publication’s release was held on November 28th at i-n-k (institute for contemporary art - www.i-n-k.dk) in central Copenhagen.

“Homo sapiens correctus” explores the philosophical arguments and emotional state of individuals who consider practicing the controversial, illegal and fringe act of trepanation. The audio work was inspired by an article in Spin Magazine in May of 1998, and is a quirky combination of lyrics and rhythms that approximate a song-like quality.

Selection and participation in Publikation uden navn brings international exposure and recognition to the work of Kendall Bruns.
